Two Stable Runners Stay Local On Thursday
Jul 16, 2014
Damien Lane will supply two runners to his home town track of Wyong on Thursday, 17th of July, with a track rating of a Dead four in place.
The first of the Lane runners will come out in race five in a class one handicap over 1100m, with Star Approach to be ridden by Jess Taylor jumping from barrier one.
Star Approach has raced consistently since joining the stable from Melbourne with a third of 10 at Wyong on a heavy 8 over 1100 m finishing a length behind the winner that time out and was most recently scene at the Wyong track finishing 5th of seven over 1200 m with Chris O'Brien a board.
Damien has removed the tips from the three-year-old chestnut geldings Arsenal for this mission.
The last event on the card in a benchmark 65 handicap will see the final Damien Lane entrant with, Attitude Pays, being the first emergency, but likely to gain a start first up from a spell, however he has drawn a poor barrier in barrier 16 at this stage.
Attitude Pays returned to competitive racing with a trial on the 8th of July over 1000 m at Wyong when finishing first of five winning the heat by 1.8 lengths, in a time of 1:00.33 for the heat with the last 600m clocked at 34.79.
The 7-year-old Bay gelding has won previously at the distance however he normally takes a couple of runs to find his feet.
Best of luck to connections with their runners at Wyong on Thursday.
