Spinning Gold In Well Deserved Win At Scone

Apr 04, 2014

Damien Lane saddled up the handy Spinning Gold for race five on the Scone card in a maiden plate over 1100 with Chris O'Brien to steer.

On jumping Spinning Gold come out on terms and was in the leading bunch with O'Brien settling in a nice forward position comfortably easing in from barrier six.

Coming to the turn Spinning Gold hit the lead and set up a mighty task for the 13 runners behind him, and although a late challenge come from All Summer Long the three-year-old gelding was punched out on the line by O'Brien to win the maiden in comfortable fashion.

The penny has dropped for Spinning Gold this preparation and deserves this win after two recent seconds at Scone in March.

Congratulations to the ownership group consisting of Grant Thoroughbred Holdings, Mrs G P Kelly-Grant, Mr D F Lane, Nineteen Fifty Four, Mr D G Mclaren, Mr D Mclaren on Spinning Gold's win at Scone on Friday
