Damien Saddles Up Two Runners For Scone On Friday

Apr 03, 2014

Damien Lane will saddle up two runners at the Scone Race Club meeting on Friday, with his first runner heading out in race two, in the Pryde's Easifeed three-year-old maiden plate over 1300 m with horse 5 Lucky Cash to be ridden by Chris O'Brien jumping from barrier three in a field of 14.

Lucky Cash has had a few runs in this preparation with the best being the fourth at Port, then the three-year-old gelding finished fifth of 10 at a recent Scone meeting over 1100m, when he passed a few in the straight.

Damien has increased the distance by couple hundred metres hoping that Chris O'Brien's backup on the horse will prove the ticket.

Damien's other runner will be in race five in a three-year-old + maiden plate over 1100m with Chris at the helm jumping from barrier six.

Spinning Gold has come back this preparation much improved after a second at Scone mid-March followed up by a second last time out on March- 25 over 900m, finishing second of 13 with Chris O'Brien in the chair, narrowly defeated by 1/2 a length.

Two Hundred meters has been added to this outing from his last effort, so hopefully he settles in transit and hits the line strongly on Friday.

Good luck to both runners at Scone.
