Damien Lane headed to race two on the Scone card in a three-year-old maiden plate over 900 m with the stable representative Spinning Gold jumping from barrier five with Chris O'Brien aboard.
On settling Spinning Gold was in the front pack, fifth two of the fence idling along in the 900 meter, waiting for the straight to introduce there dash for home.
Rounding the bend O'Brien had his charge 3 deep poised to pounce on the leading runners, Battle Queen sent out $2.50 favourite had headed for home with Avdulla getting everything out of his mount, the Lane pairing were realing in the fav but the line would appear to soon for Spinning Gold, and although it was a top effort, he would settle for second today.
