The Damien Lane Racing stables will supply two runners to the Port Macquarie race meeting on Friday, 13th February with the weather predicted to be fine racing on a good 4 with the rail in the true position.
The first of the stable runners Miello will come out in race seven at 5:10 PM in an F and M benchmark 75 handicap over 1200 m with Matthew Bennett aboard jumping from barrier seven in the field of 14.
Miello is a five-year-old Bay mare having start number 26 with four wins and 8 placings earning prize-money in excess of $61,000, with recent efforts in metropolitan Sydney racing at Randwick on January 10 finish nine of 9 over 1300 in a BM 80 finishing 3 1/2 lengths off the winner in a race time of 116.81, and was last seen at Canterbury on January 26 finishing ninth of 9 of nine over 1250 m with Kathy O'Hara aboard landing 7.4 lengths behind the winner in a race time of 1:14.39.
The next stable runner Star Approach will come out in race eight and 5:50 PM in a class 2 handicap over 1200 m with Roy McCabe to ride jumping from barrier five in a field of 14, 3rd up from a spell.
Star Approach is a four-year-old chestnut gelding having start number 16 with one win and four placings earning prize-money in excess of $32,000, recent efforts have been at Gosford on December 31 finishing fifth of eight over a thousand metres with Kassie Furness aboard landing 6.7 lengths behind the winner and was last seen at Scone on January 23 over 1200 m finishing second of 14 when ridden by Roy McCabe going down narrowly on that occasion when ridden in a forward role, completing the run in a race time of 1:11.34, for the trip.
