Stable runner Spinning Gold was looking to get back to form in the Stella Artois on course now benchmark 60 handicap over a mile with the runner partnered by Blaike McDougall after a recent outing saw the seven-year-old Brown or Black gelding arrived fourth of seven at Gosford after a latest Wyong win.

After an uneven dispatch Spinning Gold sat just off the hip early, with the race dominated by Storm Master, Spinning Gold cruised up and took over by the 1200m with Turnberry sneaking up one runner back in advance of the Iron Maiden.

Turning for home McDougall had Spinning Gold travelling nicely through the trip, though it was Turnberry looming up three wide, grabbing the lead off Spinning Gold, who finished second behind the winner landing in advance of Krystal.
