The stable prepared Spinning Gold to race five on the Wyong card in a BM60 handicap over a mile with Andrew Adkins to ride jumping from barrier three. On landing it was Spinning Gold the race leader Pin High was a clear second, Lothario was also there as was Barney Rubble after settling.

To the turn Lothario was wide the trip after missing the start, but was winding up strongly to career to the front, Pinot Gris was looking for an out with Barney Rubble back to the inside, as Spinning Gold stayed honest to the line, with the horse a lot more competitive on rain effected going, however on arriving at the judge it was all Lothario, to score the prize, landing in advance of Pinot Gris with Spinning Gold clinging onto third.
