The Damien Lane prepared Spinning Gold was sent out as race favourite in a BM 60 handicap at Coonamble @ Gilgandra race 3 over 1550 m with Greg Ryan the pilot jumping from barrier seven in a field of 10.
After dispatching in race three the early race leader was Cuban lass, Valixua was next with Consented on the outside of Tiger Bassie with the Lane prepared Spinning Gold out deep on the track via the 600m.
Heading to the straight with the golfers looking on, the race was on in earnest between Cuban Lass on the rail and Consented the top weight, Spinning Gold was there to make certain that those three runners would make up the trifecta with no other runner offering a challenge, the two leaders hit the line locked together with the judge calling for the developed print.
After a short deliberation the numbers were posted (2) Cuban Lass the victor in front of (1) Consented in second with (4) Spinning Gold landing the third prize.
