Connections of seven-year-old Brown gelding, by Shamardal out of She’s A Pirate celebrated back to back victories at Gosford with last week’s picnic class B win over a mile overshadowed by this week’s maiden combined class one plate win over 2100 m with Josh Parr aboard.
Taken to the lead from the get go after the stalls opened with a casualty being Princess Marvi whom dipped and threw the rider, Parr controlled the situation as he’s runner travelled beautifully with the head on the chest, before turning for home were Pirate Jack had all the runners off the bit and although racing erratically throughout the straight, cruised to victory to land two in a row for connections in advance of Loud Enough with Crimson Halo 3rd.
