The Damien Lane stable table saddled up race favourite Orlando Jack for race one at Taree in a maiden class one plate over 1614 m racing on a good for with Rachel King in charge jumping from barrier three with a field of nine to compete.

On settling Orlando Jack was the first galloper into stride, Another Ginger was second off its rump, Plain And Simple was third travelling by itself was Laredo Hussler which was  some three lengths away.

Coming to the side Orlando Jack was the race leader with the order unchanged throughout the event, as the three race leaders cleared out, two lengths back in its own division was Laredo Hussler with a further 4 lengths back came the rest of the field.

Into the straight Orlando Jack kicked clear, but on passing the midway point of the straight it was obvious Plain N Simple was finishing just the better and as they drew the line it was Plain N Simple scored by a head to the game Orlando Jack in second Laredo Hussler ran on strong to finish third albeit four lengths  behind the race quinella with Another Ginger fading over the concluding stages to run outside the trifecta box.
