Four-year-old Bay Mare Miello made the trip to Taree, on Tuesday the 4th accepting in race one on the program with Matthew Bennett to ride from barrier eight, on a slow 6.

From the jump Miello was wide from the gate and on settling, Bennett allowed his charge to settle at the tail of the field with proceedings unfolding in front of him, Licorice Stick was the pacesetter and the order pretty much stayed the same, from first to last until around the 600 meter mark, when Red Almighty cruised up on the outside with Miello starting to wind up at the rear for the run home.

Miello was the widest on the track, with Matthew Bennett unleashing the gelding, to be full of running, the favorite Time To Excite tried to pick her up but she was far to good.

The love affair with the Taree track would remain in tact as Miello cruised to the line in a time of 1:16.00, with the last 600m in 35.50 on a slow 6, giving connections their first win this preparation by 0.5 lengths on the line.
