Damien Lane saddled up Lucky Cash for race three at the Newcastle Jockey club meeting on Thursday, 19th February in a maiden handicap over 900 m with Serg Lisnyy aboard first up from a spell with the four-year-old gelding heading out winless after 14 starts with bookies prepared to risk at 50 to 1.

As a red light flash on the XXXX Gold barrier stalls the starter released the field, with the runners coming out in patches early as Lucky Cash strolled to the lead and by the 600m Six Star had to be controlled by Parr as he shifted out bumping heavily into Lucky Cash, putting him off stride for a gallop or two, A Question Of Time was in third position with race favourite Dalshamar in a positive position early.

Into the straight in the Sprint and it was still Six Star and Lucky Cash galloping to the lead with nothing else a threat and as the leaders eyeballed each other the whole way down stretch it was apparent the first two were going to sort out the winner and as they drew to the line it was Six Star  by a lip to the unlucky, Lucky Star with three lengths back to Dalshamar.

A protest was entered with the Stewards viewing the footage before the protest was dismissed.
