The stable prepared Leogang ran an honest third when competing in the Syngenta Velista handicap over thousand metres at the Gosford track under Blaike McDougall when competing on a soft seven.
The small field dispatched with Leogang sitting just off the pace until turning for home when jockey Blaike McDougall asked the three-year-old Bay Lonhro gelding to go out after the race leader, Prince Mayted with that pair fighting it out until Red Chandelier arrived late on the scene to split the duelling pair.
