Anticipation turned into jubilation for connections of four-year-old Bay mare Kate’s Pearl by Mutawaajid out of Ceberano in the first at Wyong today.
Kate’s Pearl who returned this preparation after a mediocre second preparation, saw her win at Taree over 1255 m on April 2, laced up for this outing with the favourite Blowing Kisses (Tye Angland) well supported into odds on in the class one handicap over a 1000m with Jason Collet aboard the Lane prepared runner jumping from barrier one.
The stable has had a healthy run of late picking up wins (7 from 25) from numerous visits to race tracks around the place, saw another stable runner chalk up another with Kate’s Pearl who jumped in fourth position early in proceedings to be some six lengths off the leader, Winning Supreme with the race favourite perched on the outside of that runner, looking like a good thing, that was until Kate’s Pearl straightened for home, going to the outside and under hands and heals, Collett sat down to ride to take out the race by 3/4 of a length to demonstrate the penny may have dropped.
