Lucky Cash was the second of the Damien Lane runners at the Taree meeting, heading out in race three in a maiden handicap over 1400m with Robert Thompson aboard.

Lucky Cash was into stride early and with a wall of horses vying for the lead, Thompson elected to roll back in the field to relax six lengths off the leader, worse than midfield but in a nice position, with Tempo Man appropriately dictating terms.

Coming to the 400m, Robert Thompson took Lucky Cash to the outside with the initial pacesetter, Tempo Man proving difficult to catch, Who's Next and Lucky Cash made it a race of three, but it was all Tempo Man with Who's Next in second, with Lucky Cash picking up third 2.8 lengths off the leader.

Lucky Cash showed vast improvement on his last time out at Muswellbrook and will not be too far away from picking up a race shortly.
