The Damien Lane prepared Helensburgh Ham for race 4 on the Warwick Farm card, with the relatively new addition to the stable to compete in the TAB.com.au handicap over 1200 m with Andrew Adkins aboard jumping from barrier nine.
As the starter pulled the trigger the gates flew open, the first runner into stride being Helensburgh Ham and on passing the 1000m, moved across to be tight up against the plastic, Prince Mayted was second with Majaska in third on the inside of Grass Cover.
Heading out of the turn Helensburgh Ham led, fanning wide on the track to straighten in advance of Prince Mayted, whom snuck up on the inside of the leader, late down the outside saw Centro Superior picking up speed to close in on Helensburgh Ham, eventually levelling up by the 50m, to stick the bib out on the line, to score in advance of Helensburgh Ham with Prince Mayted in third.
