The Cessnock wine country race meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 9 with the weather currently cloudy racing on a good three.

R2

THE ROYAL OAK HOTEL CESSNOCK CLASS 2 HANDICAP

900m

Class: Class 2,

3.

Leogang (5) (D/A) 3yoG

T: D Lane J: M Bell (56kg)

The first of the Lane stable runners will see Leogang head out in the Royal Oak hotel Cessnock class 2 handicap over 900 m with the three-year-old gelding to be ridden by Mitchell Bell jumping from barrier 5.

Last time our Leogang was devastating in chalking up win one at start 4 at Scone a fortnight ago over 1100m, that was the first run for the stable and although unwanted in the betting, broke the maiden in fine style.

He drops weight (1.5kg) for this outing and looks a major threat.

R5

IGA LIQUOR MAIDEN PLATE

900m

Class: Maiden, Set Weights

7.

Snitzwah (3) 4yoM

T: D Lane J: M Bell (57kg)

The final stable entrant will see Snitzwah compete in the IGA liquor maiden over 900 m with Mitchell Bell aboard the runner second up from a spell.

Last time out Snitzwah finished nine of 11/1100 m three weeks ago at Scone and will have a gear change of a crossover nose band the first time and tongue tie added.

She didn’t really threaten last time out but the stable is hopeful of an improvement.

Best of luck to all connected.
