Cervinia appears to have returned in competitive racing fashion after Blaike McDougall guided the five-year-old mare, to a first-up third at Cessnock.
Ridden worse than midfield throughout the run, she had a bit of work to do on straightening for home, picking up the bit nicely to go out after the race leader, Cultural Man, who had dictated terms throughout the run to drive clear in the concluding stages, to advance a 1/2 length in front of the game Grammar School with Cervinia displaying a nice return to competitive racing in the third division.
