Captains Legend lived up to the favouritism tag by scoring by many under Grant Buckley when competing in the Reflections Restaurant Plate over 2210 m defeating Seize Them All and Born To Power in fine style after plodding early in the straight before Buckley switched the whip into the other hand which coaxed the Brown gelding to dig a little deeper, to career away to a well-deserved win for connections.
After a win two starts back at Hawkesbury over 2100m, the four-year-old Brown gelding by Captain Sonador out of In Lights performed well when beaten many lengths by Jazzland locally at Wyong over 2100 m under Andrew Adkins on November 29, and with the drop in grade set the win up by being well placed.
