The Cessnock Leagues club class 1 handicap over the 900m dash, saw our stable prepared, Black Comedy finish third at odds under the guidance of Courtney Van Der Werf, arriving behind the race winner Hammoon Bridge with D’Last Za in between in race 4 at Cessnock.

Black Comedy was the 1st to begin, though as runners punched up on it inside it settled third one off the fence covering Bold Ara on the rail with the leader being D’Last Za.

When fanning into the straight Black Comedy peeled wide, as Van Der Werf sat down to ride and although they were unable to pick up the first two runners, the Lane prepared commodity hit the line strongly in the concluding stages.
