The Damien Lane racing team will head to the Port Macquarie race meeting on Saturday, October 11 with fine conditions forecasted racing on a good three.

The soul stable runner for the team will come out in race one in a class 3 handicap over 1500 m with Barstow to be ridden by Matthew Bennett jumping from barrier five in a field of eight.

Barstow is a five-year-old Bay mare having start number 16 with two wins and three placings earning prize-money in excess of $19000.

Recent efforts from the Mare have been at Tuncurry on September 13 winning the event on that occasion when ridden by Matthew Bennett when sent out as favourite winning by four lengths on the line to the nearest rival and was last seen racing at Port over 1506 m on September 28 when ridden by Samantha Clenton finishing second of 12 on that occasion less than a half a length off the winner in a time of 1:32.51 with the last 600 m in 36.38
