Damien Lane prepared Barstow for race 4 in the Port Macquarie racing club card run on Sunday, September 28 with fine conditions racing on a good three with Sam Clenton the pilot jumping from barrier one in a field of 12.

On leaving the gates Sam had Barstow in a forward position and punched up from the inside gate to settle just behind Bullion from the deep and Little Ted with Barstow third on the plastic as Kyspeil moved  into fourth position.

Coming round the side nearing the 400m, the order remained the same with the exception of Zigbee who had started an early lap around the runners to cruise up into third position relegating Barstow to fourth coming into the straight.

On straightening and midway down the straight Zigbee went for home Kyspeil with Barstow under the urgings of Sam tried to narrow the margin, however it would be Kyspeil taking out the event narrowly to Barstow by a neck with the fast finishing Run Legless in third.
