The Damien Lane prepared Barstow accepted at Cessnock in a class one handicap over 1350m with Serg Lisnyy in the saddle.

On jumping the Lane pairing found themselves in a prominent position to lead the field, and by the 1150 meter mark the pace was on in earnest, with Serg allowing his mount to drift back off the pace and get a nice run in transit.

Beauty's Girl controlled the 1350 meter event with Feature on its outside with Barstow tucking in behind the leading pair, with Aperta on its left flank half a length adrift.

Coming to the 170m, Feature went for home with Aperta  sneaking up on its outside with Barstow  spotting an opening and putting in the big ones, 75m to go though  it was to be Aperta taking out the race by a length back to Feature, with a fast finishing Barstow closing the margin behind in third position finding the line better than most and setting up a nice return next time out. A solid effort.
