The Lane stable saddled up their second Dubbo runner to the XXXX Gold flying handicap over 1100 m with All But Gone, resuming from a spell jumping from a wide alley with Greg Ryan aboard, with prize-money in excess of $40,000 on offer with $23,000 heading the winners way.

When the starter let them go, the field of sprinters were on their way, All But Gone sat last in the early stages with the pace upfront honest, the leader was In Earnest, closely followed by Filomena, Corsica Lad was next with Polsky Prince rattling past the 600 marker.

All But Gone was still back in the field, but Ryan sat confidently between runners looking for a way through on straightening for home. On straighting All But Gone had his path opened up in front of him, as if given an invitation to run through the centre of runners, eventually grabbing the lead in the concluding stages to win by half a length on the line in advance of Filomena in second with Corsica Lad in third.

Congratulations to Damien Lane and stable Fore-person Ms Kate Law on their win with All But Gone in the flying at Dubbo on Tuesday.
