The Damien Lane stable made the trip down the highway to the Randwick turf club meeting to be held on the Kensington strip on Wednesday, August 13 with fine weather displaying over a track surface reported to be a slow six.
The soul runner for the yard was coming out in race six in a 1300 meter no metropolitan win handicap with Miello, to be ridden by Kathy O'Hara with a field of 12 vying for the prize.
On landing Miello was out worse than midfield and passing the 1000m, Coco Miss settled with the lead Seritza was in second Tabletop was third and Mrs Wallace was sitting in fourth position as the field strung out some 10 lengths.
Heading towards the 400m in the One Solutions F&M Hcp, Coco Miss was traveling nicely to continue her leading role, Seritza was still prominent, Was Meant To Be was looming and Poetic Debate was tucked in looking for an out as Miello had moved to the outside to make her run under the control of O'Hara.
Turning for the judge and on straightening the early leaders were dropping out with Was Meant To Be had gone to the front with the challenges coming from the rested Miello and the fast finishing Myladyluck, and as they drew to the line it was to be Myladyluck landing the prize a head to Was Meant To Be, with a half length separating Miello for the prize back to the fast finishing Maluti.
Miello was kept a little fresh by Damien for this outing and by the way she raced on this occasion, she certainly enjoyed the tactic.
