Damien Lane accepted with Spinning Gold in race 4 at Hawkesbury in a class 2 handicap over 1400 m with Paul King the pilot jumping from barrier 2 in a field of seven.

As the field set sail in the Blakes marine class 2 handicap it was Our Sarastro out first into stride Jungle was second Spinning Gold was a length behind the race leaders with Flying Charger was fourth as the field spread out seven lengths passing the 1000m marker.

Coming to the 400m it was Our Sarastro, Jungle was off its hip, with Spinning Gold back on the fence Flying Charger was moving forward to offer a prominent position with Stratton also in in mix as was Recife Beach.

Into the straight it was Flying Charger with a kick out of the pack and seeing daylight was Recife Beach who stormed down the outside with Flying Charger in toe to fight it out on the line, asRecife Beach gained the upper hand in the concluding stages to beat Flying Charger with Spinning Gold coming through to finish third on the line with with the initial race leader Our Sarastro winding up in fourth position.
