Six-year-old gelding Spinning Gold by Waterford Road out of Comeinspina accepted to run in a B 66 handicap at Warwick Farm on a soggy heavy 10 over a mile with Chris O’Brien the pilot jumping from barrier 9 with a field of 12 to compete.

As the runners left the stalls, Love Takes Over was the first runner into stride, Zadok The Priest however took over to control terms early in proceeding with Sigmund tucked in behind the leading duo, Stylish Lad was one off the fence and fourth with Chris O’Brien allowing Spinning Gold to be worse than midfield on settling, but in a clear view of the race leaders to amble along, allowing his runner to sit without cover, to pre-empt the swing wide on the turn, where the track seemed to have played more favorable throughout the previous 6 races.

On entering the turn Playing Game was the widest runner and was advancing towards the lead, Love Takes Over was in between runners as Zadock The Priest lost ground, Sigmund appeared gone as O’Brien ambled up wide on the track to find a passage on the outside of Playing Game, to head out after the race leader.

Coming to the 100m marker, Playing Game had surged well clear, picking up the winners cheque on this occasion, in advance of Hypernicus whom was late on the scene, with Spinning Gold running a nice race at odds under the urging’s of O’Brien to finish some 3-4 lengths off the winner on this occasion.
